Created from a joint venture among Shell and Cosan formed in June 2011, Raízen is one of the largest companies in sales in Brazil and it is among the three largest distributors of fuel in the country. It is the leading sugarcane ethanol producer in Brazil and the largest single exporter of cane sugar in the international market. It stands out as one of the most competitive companies in the energy sector in the world.
It is responsible for producing more than 2 billion liters of ethanol per year to supply the domestic and foreign markets, 4 million tons of sugar and 940 MW of installed capacity for electricity generation from sugarcane bagasse. The Company cultivates, harvests and processes sugarcane - the main raw material used in the production of sugar and ethanol. It has more than 5,600 service stations for fuel distribution throughout Brazil with the Shell brand, 950 convenience stores, 69 distribution terminals and it is in 60 airports in the aviation fuel business.
Acquired in 2012, Comgás is the largest distributor of piped natural gas in the country. It has a network of over 14,000 km, taking natural gas to more than 1.6 million customers in the residential, commercial and industrial sectors in 75 cities at the state. Its concession area represents around 26% of the Gross Domestic Product of the country, covering 177 cities in the metropolitan regions of São Paulo and Campinas, in addition to Santos and a region so called Vale do Paraíba.
Through Cosan Lubricants, the company produces and distributes the most advanced automotive and industrial products. It is present with the Mobil brand in Brazil, in three countries in South America (Bolivia, Uruguay and Paraguay), and also in the UK, with Comma.
With Radar, the company is dedicated to exploring new business opportunities in agricultural properties with high appreciation potential in Brazil, acquiring and leasing land to large farmers in the industry for sugarcane cultivation, soybean, corn and cotton.
Cosan S/A ("CSAN3") is listed since 2005 on the BM&FBovespa at the highest level of corporate governance.
Rumo brings together integrated transportation, storage and shipping services, hauling tonnes of products every day, and creating a bridge between companies and markets. It's the biggest logistics operator with a independent railway basis in Latin America, with 12.000 kilometers across Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul, São Paulo, Paraná, Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul, connecting Paranaguá (PR), Santos (SP), São Francisco do Sul (SC) and Rio Grande (RS) ports.
