Strategic Alliances - history

With audacity and market vision, COSAN entered into partnerships with large groups as a manner to win space in the international market. In 1999, the British sugar group, Tate & Lyle, acquired 10% of the port terminal. In 2002, COSAN joined the French companies, Tereos and Sucden, to create the FBA – Franco Brasileira de Açúcar e Álcool S/A.

In 2005, COSAN joined forces with a new partner, the Chinese group Kuok, one of the most dynamic and diversified international conglomerates. Also in 2005 COSAN entered into a partnership to open a terminal specifically destined to ethanol exports, Teas – Terminal Exportador de Álcool de Santos S/A (Santos Ethanol Exports Terminal) –, jointly with Crystalsev, Nova América group and Cargil.

These partnerships bring new resources and generate high technology, consolidating the Group as a large player in the international market.
