The raw material is transformed into quality products
High productivity levels of COSAN’s units are the result of investments in research, acquisition of state-of-the-art equipment and training of industrial area employees. Such investment is reflected into quality in various stages of sugar and ethanol manufacturing, from sugarcane grinding until the preparation of products to be delivered to clients. Concurrently, the electricity co-generation, by means of cane bagasse burning, ensures the self-sufficiency to the Group and the sale of surplus obtained to energy distributor companies.
In 2004, COSAN Group ground more than 26 million tonnes of sugarcane. During 2007/2008 crop, this figure reached approximately 40 million, a result which shows high level of control of the entire process. |
